Bandido John 1 %er GBNF in BMC Ashford, England, tragically passed away 30 June 2018.
The funeral of Bandido John 1 %er GBNF took place 27 July 2018 in Ashford, England. At this time all Bandidos are gathered in Arles, France, for the National Run 27-29 July 2018. The Brothers of Bandido John 1 %er GBNF in his chapter, stayed in England in order to take care of the funeral and pay their last respect at the funeral. Four Brothers from Denmark, Finland, Germany and Sweden drove their bikes together to England to pay their last respects at the funeral. A French Brother also drove his bike to England and joined them there. The Brothers started on Thursday morning 25 July 2018 and arrived at the French border at the English channel in Calais later that day. The French soldiers stationed at the customs showed no interest in the Brothers and they could drive their bikes onto the vehicle train that transports the bikes under the English channel do Dover. Thursday evening the Brothers checked in at a hotel close to the clubhouse of BMC Ashford.
The morning of Friday 27 July the Brothers drove their bikes to the clubhouse of BMC Ashford. In the clubhouse Brothers, relatives and close friends were gathered to remember Bandido John 1 %er GBNF.
After a few hours a Harley Davidson with a hearse where the coffin with Bandido John 1 %er GBNF lay, drove up in front of the clubhouse. All Brothers and friends that were there on bikes, drove behind the hearse in a big pack from the clubhouse to the church.
At the church six persons carried the coffin from the hearse into the church, two of the coffin carriers were Bandidos that had driven their bikes from Arles to Ashford. It was at big honor for the brothers to carry the coffin of their departed Brother. The funeral was very respectful and dignified.
After the funeral, the four Brothers drover together back to the National Run in Arles. On the way back they were delayed by a heavy thunderstorm with raining and lightning that stopped the vehicle train from Dover to Calais with several hours. The Brothers returned to National Run in the midday of Saturday, July 28.
The trip was about 1 000 km's one way. A short distance when it comes to paying the last respect to a departed Brother. We will see you in the Forever Chapter Brother John. G. B. N. F.
